SARA

I've been itching to wish you a Happy Birthday!

Sara's birthday is today, and she is now almost as old as I am. There are many things that make Sara great, but here are just a small few:

  • She has the brightest, most perfect smile you will ever see. Seriously, it sparkles. I always expect to hear that little ping sound when she unleashes the smile. I have often referred to her as the girl with the Colgate smile.

  • She is able to live with me, and remain sane. Not to mention the 4 other humanoids that roam around our home. If you know me, you know that this is no small task. Here is an example: I was talking to her the other day about how painful it would be for a man to give birth because the urethra would have to get dilated to like a 12. Most people might delve in to the whole feasibility of a man conceiving in the first place. Her response was that the man would just have a c-section, and we moved on to bigger and better topics of discussion.

  • She is really, really, really sensitive to our children's needs. That is probably why they always ask her for things first, run to her when they get hurt(I've learned that feelings count as an injury too), want her to tuck them in at night, and want to sit on her lap.

  • She's crafty. She can make anything out of fabric that she wants to. If you have seen any of her blankets, then you know what I am talking about.

  • She's all about hand-holding. Most people hold hands at the beginning of a relationship, but the hand-holding dies down as the relationship develops more physically. Then when you get really old you hold hands again, but then it is to keep from falling over or to make sure you don't lose each other. Sara has always stayed true to hand-holding, but maybe she just thinks I'm already capable of getting lost.

  • Not only is she a great hand-holder, but her kissing is impeccable as well.

  • She can make a delicious corned beef and cabbage. Anyone who can do that is great. In fact, she is talented in the kitchen.

  • She is a great lover. What I mean is that she really cares about others. Whether it is one of our children who might need to be covered at night, the person sleeping in their car next to our house, or somebody else going through tough times, Sara always shows love towards them and tries to do whatever she can.

There are tons more things I could list, but I need to get my rest for her birthday celebration. Happy Birthday Sara! I hope you get everything you wanted, because you are everything I have ever wanted. Love you Sweet Pea!

On a final note, here is a music video that you are far too young to remember.

it still brings tears to my eyes.

i love you. Skyler is teaching me how to capitolize my letters. She loves you too.

p.s. it's only a matter of time that i undo everything you just did in the garage!

Maybe after Skyler gets finished teaching you how to "capitolize" she can teach you how to spell too.

So ever since you posted this sweet blog about Sara (I knew you had it in you), I have begun holding Adam's hand all the time. I thought that was just about the sweetest thing ever. Thanks for being my inspiration (I never thought I would say that).
